                                                        Programme
          The battle at the Spanish River is legendary and it is  absolute need to overcome an enemy so as to rescue
          known that the victory of the maroons, led by Capt.  the sovereignty and sovereign rights of them and their
          Quao, over British Lieutenant George Concannon and  descendants.  They knew that some would not live to
          his well-armed, fortified and provisioned soldiers, was a  tell the tale, yet they fought.  They knew that others
          masterpiece of military precision from beginning to  would come who would need the positive outcomes
          end. A brilliant exhibition of the art of guerilla warfare,  from this war and so they fought.  Steeped in their
          it completely destroyed the confidence of the  commitment to a greater good and the strength of
          colonizers as they were beaten and sent home with  community, they fought. They won.

                                                                In the very place of the Battle where our ancestors
          Meet us there again this year to remember and  sealed the victory of justice over injustice, let us gather
          celebrate the courage, resilience, persistence,  to talk about them...and us.  How are our ways, means,
          perseverance, clarity of purpose, spirituality and life  practices, ideas, actions etc. winning battles against
          of those we now greet as ancestors.  To give praise to  injustice in our daily lives, How are we living the lives
          the intelligence, genius, foresight with which they  they fought for us to have?  Are we continuing to
          approached a war and their keen understanding of the  evolve the future they envisioned?  If not….why not?
